Whip up a batch of this turmeric ‘golden milk’ paste to super charge hot lemon & honey drinks, or to make a Turmeric latte with hot/frothed milk/mylk, as it is used in Ayurvedic medicine. Pop it in the fridge and it is quick and easy to whip up these nourishing drinks.
This combination has been revered since ancient times for its soothing and healing properties.
It aids the immune system, digestion, liver function, is an antioxidant and supports relaxation and good sleep.
It is recommended for breastfeeding women to support milk supply (one of its traditional uses) as it is very nourishing.
This recipe is just a guideline, you can adjust the type and amount of spices to your liking. I just think ‘delicious chai’ when I’m making mine, and if you don’t get it quite right in the paste, you can adjust when serving the drink.
To get the full benefits of turmeric you need heat, some kind of fat (coconut oil) and a little bit of black pepper. The coconut oil is also anti-viral and anti-fungal, and soothes an itchy/scratchy throat.
Golden Milk/Tea Paste (keep it in the fridge)
You need;

- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Approximately 4 teaspoons of any combo of sweet spices you like (cinnamon and ginger are great plus… cardamom, ginger, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, allspice…) think chai!
- 1/2 cup water
Put everything in a small pot and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Pour into a glass container and store in the fridge.
